Glacier Jet Alaska’s jet boats are custom designed for Alaska’s Twenty Mile River and Knik River; completely constructed from heavy gauge welded aluminum with sturdy re-enforced bottom structures designed to withstand the rigors and abuses of the demanding and unforgiving boulder strewn Glacier Rivers. The unceasing fluctuation in water levels caused by the influence of the glacial runoff affected by the sometimes daily freeze and thaw cycles cause additional boating challenges which we have managed by incorporating bottom sheets of UHMW Teflon to allow safe and easy passage over the tops of the boulders in times of low water. Our primary boats incorporate twin motors and jet drives for redundancy and safety. We safely and routinely pass over and through narrows, shallows and rapids, threading our way on thin lines amongst the glacier proof bedrock remnants that withstood the onslaught of the ice age itself to the very walls ice on the face of the Twenty Mile Glacier and Knik Glacier herself.
